We'll have Manhattan
the Bronx and Staten
Island too.
It's lovely going through
the zoo!

It's very fancy
on old Delancy
street you know.
The subway charms us so
when balmy breezes blow
to and fro.

And tell me what street
compares with Mott Street
in July?
Sweet pushcarts gently gli-ding by.

The great big city's a wonderous toy
just made for a girl and boy.
We'll turn Manhattan
into an isle of joy.

Boston is so much better than New York. Even Providence, RI is better. New York is overrated!
And oh of course nothing in NY in an hot July afternoon July beats Lisbon's sunset view from Castelo de Sao Jorge and nothing in NY in a hot July night beats Barcelona's ramblas full of life.

Hey, thanks for the comments on the charms of places, a discussion it would be interesting to continue …but to me the beauty of this poem and hence the reason I put it here it is because it is about someone trying to convince other to move in with him to New York :)

But of course I totally agree with Chata that nothing compares to a hot July afternoon in Urbino, especially if it is passed in the courtyard of “Il Cortigiano” and then the piazza sipping cappuccinos and eating gelatos!

And as I hope to convince her, better then that only a hot August afternoon in Praia da Rocha spent on the beach, knowing that we should be working on our thesis but not caring at all ;)
